RENO,
Nev. – Blane Johnson, a longtime Nevada REALTOR® based in Incline Village,
was installed Friday as 2012 president of the Nevada Association of REALTORS®
(NVAR).
During an event Friday at the Hyatt
Incline Village, Johnson announced his leadership theme for 2012 will be
“reaching out.” He said the theme can be applied to reaching out to help
homeowners, REALTORS® and other Nevadans through a challenging time in the
state’s economy and history.
Other NVAR officers for 2012 installed
during the event include: Patty Kelley, of Las Vegas, president-elect; Paul
Bell, of Las Vegas, treasurer; and Mike Young, of Incline Village, immediate
past president. Bell is currently completing his one-year term as president of
the Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS® (GLVAR).
Johnson, a real estate broker and owner
of Incline at Tahoe Realty, previously served as NVAR’s president-elect and on
its board of directors. He is a graduate of the LeadershipNVAR program, has
served as president of the Incline Village Association of REALTORS® and has
served on numerous local and NVAR committees, including chairing NVAR’s
Professional Standards Committee.
A 30-year resident of the Lake Tahoe
area, Johnson has also served on the board of Tahoe-Can, an umbrella
organization for 65 nonprofit organizations in and around Lake Tahoe, and was
recently president of CYMBAL, an organization of music boosters for schools in
the Incline Village area. He and his family enjoy skiing, hiking, fishing and the
beauty of the area.
